Okoume

Description : Also referred to as Gaboon,
is an African Hardwood. Light pinkish brown in color, sometimes lustrous
with variable interlocked grain, the rotary cut panels can be painted or
finished bright. Okoume panels exhibit high strength to weight ratios,
ideal for boat building, Face veneers are 2.3 mm thick A/B grade rotary
cut veneer. Cores and crossbands are solid jointed and panel glued with
waterproof/ boilproof glue. Marine grade Okoume meets or exceeds BS 1088.
The glueline contains an anti-fungicidal agent which allow full Lloyds
Marine and offshore certification, Lloyds registry certificate 93/00051
Okoume panels are extensively used by race class boatbuilders, rowing
shell builders, and in various applications where its light weight, high
tensile strength, good bonding properties and ease of finishing are of
