Description
| Teak- tectona grandis—is
a king among woods. It is good looking and durable. Teak will not warp,
twist or expand. Teak will repel termites,
marine borers, and resist rot. Teak has a high silica content. Silica is
sand which gives traction to those walking on teak decks. Teak is the
ideal wood for maritime craft for it will not produce electrolosis when
coming in to contact with salt water and metal. Also, used for high
quality architectural woodwork and furniture. The picture above is
showing the way we import teak lumber. The log is flitch sawn, kiln
dried, then banded together. In lumber we specialize in long lengths and
wide widths (up to 30”) of genuine first European quality Burmese teak. |
